The Volvo/Renault middle axle and newer type Tandem axle is a great system allowing the second drive axle to be lifted when the vehicle partially loaded or empty.
This gives great benefits such as:
- Reduced Tyre wear
- Lower fuel consumption
- Improved turning radius
- Better road grip
Unfortunately due to very tight parameter restrictions inside the vehicles ECU if the truck is fitted with any additional machinery such as a crane or grab system the middle/Tandem axle may never be allowed to be lifted.
We can reprogram the vehicles ECU parameters allowing you to drive with the second drive axle lifted where as the standard Volvo/Renault settings would not. Please Contact us for details
